Ex- Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Charges Against 38 Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have stated that a former doctor now faces charges for carrying out assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
Details of the Grave Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of sexual offences – comprising some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor stated, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
The charges come after what police called a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
Breakdown of Offences
Prosecutors outline the forty-five charges include:
- 15 counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
