In a impressive display, the English national team secured another triumph against Albania, featuring several squad members delivering memorable displays on the pitch.

Starting Lineup

Dean Henderson Had little to do required in the first half but then tested from Arbër Hoxha’s curling effort. His sliding challenge against an Albanian attacker highlighted sharp reading of the game. 6/10

Jarell Quansah Challenged by Albania’s main danger through their forward. Played more centrally early on but moved to the flank after a teammate entered the fray. 7/10

The defender Advanced forward when in possession, as he has done before. Sometimes was too casual in possession and the approach abandoned after the break. 6/10

Dan Burn A nuisance at set pieces, as always, but may be an alternative to his teammate in defense rather than paired with him. One wayward ball after the break came close to the first goal for the visitors. 6

Nico O’Reilly Another assured performance from the 20-year-old after his initial appearance versus another side. A teammate failed to make the opportunity from a clever backheel over the opposing backline. The role is firmly his already. 7

Adam Wharton His first start for his country. Somewhat loose when playing out but his dangerous set-pieces were a threat. A handy game manager for the boss to have versus defensive opponents. Shown a yellow after a reckless foul. 6

The midfielder Deliveries from dead balls and set-plays were dangerous. Enjoyed license to drift on the left yet found himself in an offside position when the ball arrived in shooting positions. Awarded a merited substitution on the hour mark. Six

The star midfielder Operated in a forward role out wide and put in the hard yards. Showed flashes of quality and dragged an attempt over. Substituted in the closing stages for a teammate, a fellow player, following a yellow card. 7/10

The winger Was presented with the team's clearest opportunity before halftime, his effort excellently kept out by Thomas Strakosha. With Quansah staying deep, he was forced to stretch the play out wide but his crosses into the box were hit and miss. Substituted late in the match. 6/10

The captain The match-winner with his 77th and 78th strikes in an England shirt. The first a trademark close-range tap-in and his next a superb header after peeling away from his marker. Aged 32, he’s only getting better and the side stand a real opportunity next summer with him up top. 8/10

The attacker Struggled to make an impact on the left flank. Had a presentable chance when set up from a teammate however the keeper made the save. His replacement made much more of an impact when substituted. Five
