Unbowed Wilfried Nancy does not fear dismissal yet supporters unleash wrath after defeat.
The under-pressure manager stated he was not afraid of dismissal, maintaining, “We are very near to changing our fortunes,” even after moving dangerously close to being fired with a heavy defeat by the Ibrox side.

Celtic were in front their oldest rivals at half-time but a disastrous second period enabled Rangers to move level on points with the reigning league title holders. The French coach, who was appointed in December, has now overseen six setbacks in his last eight fixtures.
“The board and I are united at the club,” said Nancy.
Pressed on his own future, Nancy said: “I don’t think about it. My focus is on discovering solutions to get the team to improve on small moments.

Hundreds of supporters displayed their anger – towards the board and manager – in their hundreds outside the stadium. The hierarchy are thought to be considering to bring back the former boss, who had a fruitful caretaker period before Nancy was hired, if Nancy departs.
“It’s the results [that leads to pressure]. So this is the truth for the moment. Yet in stating that’s how it is, I am not saying that I am pessimistic. No. The message is we are really close, imminently close to reverse our form.”

Nancy continues to cling to the fact Celtic play well for a half at a time. In fact, if not for poor finishing they could have been greater than 1-0 up. “There were positives other than the fact that we missed more goals,” he said. “I know that we lost, but it's important to stay objective.
“The level we had at times was of top quality. This is the reality. And I would not speak so positively if it was different. Therefore, in terms of results, I mentioned we've seen this before. Which is why I feel a change is coming to things turning around. Currently: the fine margins.”
“I saw a lot of encouraging signs that we did, like today again. However comes down to sustaining it. My narrative would not be the same. That’s why I am a big believer we will manage to get back on track.”
Opposition Reaction Response
The victorious boss refused to contemplate a championship push even after what appeared to be a huge result. “One match at a time, and we can develop something here,” he said. “The faith in the squad is excellent.”
